Social Impact Assessment of Gas Project: Shell, April – August 2004
This research study was commissioned by the Shell petroleum development Company SPDC to carry out a social impact assessment of the IOGP project in Gbaran Node of Bayelsa. Specifically, the research objective is to assess the views of 34 Gbaran Node communities on the benefits of the project, the positive and negative consequences of the project from planning to execution as well as the development of mitigation measures.
Corporate Social Responsibility Scoping Study: New Nigerian Foundation
DA was commissioned to carry out a study of the current CSR practices in specific sectors in the organized private sector in Nigeria. The project is a joint study by DA and NNF to develop a CSR support service to socially responsible corporations in Nigeria.

Social Impact Assessment for a Shell funded Agricultural development project in Umuechem, a host community of Shell in Rivers state of Nigeria. The study provided a basis for the design, development and implementation of a cassava competitiveness program in the community.

Development is being part-funded by IIE and the Ford Foundation to coordinate a research project on the nature, scope diversity and value of corporate philanthropy in Nigeria over the period of 1990 – 1999.
New Nigerian Foundation; November 2001
This project involved the development of a sustainable development strategy for Conoco Energy Nigeria to guide its engagement with its host communities. The project involves the assessment of development needs of communities and design of likely interventions and the role that Conoco can play in their realization without creating a dependency on Conoco.
Zik Foundation: March – December 2001.
In a long term and comprehensive project, Development Associates was retained to provide technical assistance to setting up of a post-humus foundation for the Late RT. Hon. Nnamdi Azikiwe, the first President of Nigeria. This is a turn key project ranging from conceptualization, program development, staff recruitment and training, institutional capacity building and formal launching.
Chevron Nigeria Limited CNL: June 1998
Development Associates organized an awareness and reorientation workshops for community leaders of the host communities of Chevron Nigeria Limited. Held over a period of 6 months in four locations in Port Harcourt, Akure and Warri, the consultative workshops were aimed at promoting a sustainable community asset management and investment culture among the host communities of Chevron.
