Rural Livelihood Consultations DFID: February & April 2002. DA provided facilitation and field diagnostic services in Enugu and Ekiti states to identify key stakeholders groups, common priorities as well as policy and institutional context for DFID support and possible intervention.

Feasibility Study for Small Scale Spare Parts Manufacturing: El-Fangaz Limited, March 2001. This project involves feasibility study for suspension-bushing manufacturing covering production, process technology, cost and financing plan, management and personnel issue. The marketing study was carried out separately during the first phase of the project.

Evaluation and Documentation of Integrated Health and Microfinance Project: COWAN, March - June 2001. The project entailed the evaluation and documentation of field experiences gained during the pilot phases of Women’s Health and Economic Empowerment Initiative WHEEI. The initiative is an action learning project by 16 non-government organizations which tried to integrate health and micro-finance programs in an integrated manner for intervention among low income women in rural and urban communities in selected locations in Nigeria.

Rural and Micro-finance Conference in Nigeria: Chemonics August – September 2000. Development Associates was contracted to provide conference logistics assistance to the Rural and Micro-finance Conference in Nigeria. We were responsible for the marketing, promotion, pre-registration, site reservation & coordination, on-site conference management and the production of conference handbook. A consortium of donors including USAID, DFID, IFAD and the World Bank sponsored the conference.

Assessment of Retail and Wholesale Microfinance Sector in Nigeria. Weidemann, May – June, 2000. Development Associates was contracted by Weidemann Associates Inc. as a local firm to conduct an assessment of the retail and wholesale microfinance sector in Nigeria. The study forms a basis for the designing of a potential second tier financial institution for down market retail financial intermediaries for micro, small and medium enterprises in Nigeria.

Evaluation of National microfinance networks: WWB April 2000. DA Managing Partner led a mission to evaluate national micro-finance networks in Ghana and Gambia as preparation towards the assessment of their eligibility for foundation membership and launching of Africa Microfinance Network AMFIN.

Africa Regional Microfinance Network Development: WWB 1998-2000. Development Associates through its Managing Associates works with the Talent Bank of WWB as facilitators and resource person for the consultative meetings with National Micro-finance Networks in Africa towards the establishment of an African Micro-finance Network. Evaluation of country level micro finance networks in Ghana and the Gambia. DA also provides technical services to some affiliates of WWB in Africa.

Development of Country Strategy: DFID Jan – Feb 2000. Development Associates conducted a DFID civil society consultation process in the South West and South East zones of Nigeria. The Managing Associates of DA was the coordinating national consultant for this consultative process, which led to the development of DFID’s country strategy for in Nigeria 2000.

Orientation and Training on Microfinance for Health NGOs USAID: May – June, 1998. The Managing Associate of Development Associates was a lead consultant to USAID in the conceptualization design and implementation of micro credit schemes for the local NGOs that work with its implementing partners in four clusters in Lagos, Kano, Ibadan and Enugu.

Microfinance Policy and Regulation: PSDP-UNDP Uganda April 1998. The Managing Partner of Development Associates was part of a team of consultants commissioned by Private Sector Development Program of Uganda to work on the design of a microfinance apex and network institution, prudential regulation and supervision of microfinance organisations in Uganda.

Country Assessment and feasibility study for Microstart Nigeria UNDP-SUM February/March 1998. The Managing Partner was the lead national consultant to the UNDP Special Unit on Microfinance SUM on the country assessment mission on the implementation of UNDP Microstart in Nigeria.
